Temporary Housing & Transport for Caregiving Families
For families nursing a loved one away from home
Sometimes the person who needs care is admitted far from where you live. Say your loved one is at a hospital like International Hospital Kampala, but you are travelling in from Arua or another town to be at their side. Newhouse Care & Wellness can arrange a comfortable temporary home for you to stay in close to the hospital, along with transportation between your accommodation and their bedside, so you can focus on nursing your loved one instead of worrying about where you will sleep or how you will get there.
Why families choose Newhouse Care & Wellness.
Clinical excellence
An RN on site 24/7, low staff turnover, and a medical director who reviews every care plan personally.
Person-centered care
Individualized plans built around each resident's history, preferences, and goals, not a one-size-fits-all routine.
Family partnership
Daily care updates, an open-door policy for visits, and a monthly family council with facility leadership.
A comfortable setting
Private and semi-private rooms, home-style dining, and common areas designed to feel lived-in, not clinical.
A home is on the way.
Our residential facility is coming soon: a place where your loved ones can live, be cared for, and feel at home. We'll share more details as we get closer to opening our doors.
Led by clinicians. Guided by families.

What families are saying.
"The nurses learned my father's routine within a week and stuck to it. That consistency mattered more than anything."
"Rehab got my mother back on her feet in six weeks. The therapy team called us after every session."
"I never once felt like a number here. The staff know our whole family by name."
Common questions from families.
Do you accept health insurance?
We work with several private health insurance providers in Uganda, and our billing team can confirm what your specific plan covers before you commit to anything.
What's the difference between skilled nursing and long-term care?
Skilled nursing is typically short-term, medically intensive care, often following a hospital stay. Long-term care is an ongoing residential arrangement for people who need daily support but not hospital-level treatment.
Can I tour before making a decision?
Absolutely, and we encourage it. Tours can be scheduled same-week and typically run about 45 minutes, including time with our admissions nurse.
Schedule a tour or ask us anything.
Most families start with a phone call, and we're happy to answer your questions from the very first one.
